Use the Periodic Fee Maintenance form (CBAPFEE) to define fees that can be automatically added to cases on a specified day of the month. If you need to add fees to a case more often than monthly, you can make as many entries as you need for the case, each with a different day specified. For example, if you wanted to add fees twice a month, you could create one entry calling for fees to be added on the first and another entry for the fifteenth.

Your court must run the Periodic Fee Process (CBPPFEE) to generate the fees resulting from the information you enter here.

Before you can use this form, you must be set up for Multi-Location Accounting (MLA). More about Multi-Location Accounting

To define periodic fees

  1. Open the Periodic Fee Maintenance form (CBAPFEE).

  2. Enter or select a Court Code.

  3. Enter or select a Location Code.

  4. Select Next from the Block menu. The system displays the following information for all periodic fee records previously entered for cases at the court and location at the top of the form. You can limit the records displayed by entering criteria in the Case ID, ID, Pay Plan Number, or Detail code fields.

  5. The periodic fee records sort first by case ID, then by detail code.

  6. To enter a new periodic fee record, select Insert from the Record menu or scroll to a blank line.

  7. Enter information in the fields listed above. The only required information is Case ID, Detail Code, Amount, Day of Month, and Begin Date. Considerations when entering a new periodic fee record

  8. If you enter a party ID for a periodic fee record and later the party is ended on the case, an exception is written into the CBPPFEE report indicating the fee could not be created because the party is no longer active on the case.

You are not prevented from entering duplicate periodic fee records. If you do so, the fees are created as directed for each record.

  9. Save. When finished entering periodic fee records, Exit the Periodic Fee Maintenance form (CBAPFEE).
