Delete a docket.

All party, docket, and event associations are removed. If you require these associations for a new docket, you must manually enter a new docket and reassociate the new docket on the Docket Association Entry form (CDADOCT).

In addition to CDADOCT, you can also reassociate with filing parties on the Case Initiation Maintenance form (CMAINIT) or Case/Party Account Detail form (CBAACCD). You can reassociate with either filing parties or associated parties on the Event Outcome form (CSAEOUT).

Change a docket.

The system will not create a continued event. You must do this manually.

Delete a docket code that closed an event.

The event is reopened. Once an event is reopened, both cases and parties can be changed or deleted unless additional closed events or other ineligible records are associated with the cases or parties.

Delete a docket containing judgment information (either for or against).

That information is deleted when the docket is changed or deleted.

Change a docket to a new docket that should have fees attached.

You must create those fees manually. Even if your system is set up to automatically create fees for that docket code, it will not do so if the docket code results from a change.

Change a docket to a docket with work flow rules set up for it.

The system will not trigger those rules. However, if the original docket had work flow rules set up for it, any records created as a result of those work flow rules remain in the system. Therefore, you should use only the change feature for clerical errors that you recognize early in your processing and delete any errors noted after further processing has been done.

Change a docket to another docket affecting case and/or party status.

The case and/or party status is changed UNLESS someone has manually changed the case status on the Case Status Maintenance form (CDACSTS) or the party status on the Party Status Maintenance form (CDAPSTS).

Delete a docket that originally resulted in the automatic update of case and/or party status.

The case and/or party status records resulting from the docket are deleted UNLESS someone has manually changed the case status on the Case Status Maintenance form (CDACSTS) or the party status on the Party Status Maintenance form (CDAPSTS).

If more than one docket affecting status was entered over the life of the case, the last one entered determines the status. For example, if three dockets affect case status or party status and you delete the second one, the status is still determined by the third one and remains unchanged. However, if you delete the third one instead, the second determines the status.
