Party Associations
The Party Associations window allows you to establish, maintain, and view relationships or connections between one or more parties on a case. Party associations can be established and maintained from the:
Party (CDAPRTY) form, and
Lead case block of the Party Consolidation (CDACONP) form.
You cannot enter parties on this window.
You can only make or break associations between parties. To enter parties,
use the Party (CDAPRTY) form or the Parties tab on the Case Initiation
(CMAINIT) form.
Associations are two-way. The selected party at the top of the window becomes linked to the parties you choose in the list and the parties in the list are linked to the selected party.
If you access the Party Association window from the following forms, you can only view party associations:
Related case block of Party Consolidation (CDACONP)
Party tab of Person/Case History (CMIPCHI)
Party Change/Delete (CDACDPT)
Case Catalog (CFACCAT)
Party Expungement (CFAEXPP)
Case Outcome (CSAEOUT)
Event Personnel (CSAPTYP)
Event Scheduling (CSAEVNT)
Supervisor Event Change (CSARSCH)
To work with party associations (CDAPRTY and CDACONP):
The Party type, ID, and name of the party selected on the main form display at the top of the window.
Select a radio button:
All displays all associated and unassociated parties on the case. This is the default selection.
Associated Parties displays only the parties with which the selected party is already associated.
Unassociated Parties displays only the parties on the case with which the selected party is not associated.
Once you've selected a radio button, to access the list of parties select Next from the Block menu.
Since judges cannot be associated
with other parties, parties defined with the default judge party type
code on the System Control (COASYSC) form do not appear in the list.
In addition, the selected party at the top of the window does not appear in the list because parties cannot be associated with themselves.
You can limit the list of parties by querying on Party Type, Party ID, and Party Status. The End Date field is display-only.
You can associate or disassociate parties using the Sel (Select) checkbox:
To link an unassociated party to the party at the top of the window, select the checkbox.
To break the link between an associated party and the party at the top of the window, deselect the checkbox.
You can associate as many parties with
the selected party at the top of the window as you need to.
To save your changes, select Save from the File menu.
To exit the window and return to the main form, select Close Window from the File menu.
To establish, maintain, or view party associations for another party, choose a party on the main form and select Party Associations from the navigation frame and follow steps 2-7.
