More About Parties

  • You can enter or select an existing person or organization ID for the Plt ID or you can enter a new one. If you enter an existing ID, the address information is system-filled with the first active address on record. You can choose a different active address or create a new address of a different type.

  • When entering a Judge ID or an Atty ID, you must enter parties who already exist in the system. When entering an attorney, the address information is system-filled with the first active address on record. You can choose a different active address or create a new address of a different type.

  • You can enter one plaintiff and one attorney on the main form. If both are entered, the system automatically makes the party association that displays on the Party form (CDAPRTY). Additional parties can be entered on the Additional Party Entry window, but no automatic association is made.

  • To indicate the plaintiff is an organization, leave the Person Checkbox deselected. Enter the organization's name in the Plt Last Name field and leave the rest of the name fields blank.
