Enter Information on Persons/Organizations with a Legal Classification (CPAIDEN)
Use the Legal Information tab of the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN) to specify legal categories for persons and organizations like judges, attorneys, police officers, and law firms. You can also enter biographical information for attorneys and law firms.
To enter legal information for persons or organizations
Open the Legal Information tab.
Enter a Legal Category or select one from the list.
If you are entering a police officer, enter the Badge Number. Tip
To enter another legal category for the individual, select Next from the Record menu and repeat steps 2 and 3.
If you are entering an attorney, select Next from the Block menu to move to the Attorney Information block. Otherwise, Save and Exit.
Enter the attorney's state bar ID in the Attorney Number field. Tip
Enter the attorney's Bar Membership code or select one from the list, then enter the effective Date for the bar membership. If the date is in the current month and year, just enter the day and Tab to the next field. The system fills the complete date.
Enter the code for the attorney's Bar Status or select it from the list, then enter the effective Date for the status.
Enter the attorney’s Area of Practice--the area of law in which the attorney specializes.
Enter Y in the Alternative field if the attorney is available for alternative programs, such as indigent defense work or arbitration.
Save.
When finished, Exit the Legal Information tab.
