After content has been scanned or imported and the DMS transactions processed, you can copy a content file to another host record. If the content file has other content files attached to it, those files will be copied as well. In addition, you can copy all content files attached to a host record by selecting the host record itself, then following the instructions below.

Generate/DRAW3.gif If you do not have access to one of the attached files, you will not be able to copy the host file.

To copy a content file to another host record

  1. Select DMS Window in the navigation frame to open the DMS Window.

  2. Select the content file in the hierarchical list displayed in the DMS Window.

  3. Select DMS Copy in the navigation frame or click the Copy button on the DMS Window.

  4. Select the record to which you want to copy the content. This can be another record on the same form or you can exit the current form, open another image-enabled maintenance form, and select a record.

  5. Generate/DRAW3.gif Image-enabled maintenance forms are Case Initiation Maintenance (CMAINIT), Identification (CPAIDEN), and Docket Association Entry (CDADOCT).

  6. Select DMS Window in the navigation frame to open the DMS Window. Notice the Copy button is no longer available nor is DMS Copy available in the navigation frame.

  7. Generate/DRAW3.gif The Bar Code button remains available during the Copy process. You can use it to add images to a batch even though you haven't yet completed the Copy process.

  8. Select DMS OK in the navigation frame or click the OK button on the DMS Window. You can also Cancel the copy from either the navigation frame or the DMS Window.

  9. Generate/DRAW3.gif You must select either OK or Cancel to end the Copy process.
