ODP Party Selection
When the Letter Merge form (CLALMRG) is accessed from the forms
Event Scheduling (CSAEVNT),
Event Docketing (CDAEVNT),
Event Outcome (CSAEOUT),
Paper Event/Letter Generation Initiation (CLAINIT), or
SessionDirect (NMAMAIN),
then Contexte selects parties to receive ODP documents when the
party is selected for the individual event on CSAEVNT or the Supervisor Event Change form (CSARSCH), and
party type is defined on the Letter Type/Party Type Rule form (CTRLRUL) or through the Party Type navigation frame option on CLALMRG.
In the case of CLAINIT, the paper events
selected on the form must have been created as the result of scheduling
a real event.
This means you can choose to send letters to some parties on a case and not send them to others on the same case, even if they belong to the same party type.
Example: Case 1234-07 includes three people as parties to the case: party IDs A, B, and C. All parties are classified as defendants with a party type code of DFT. An arraignment is scheduled or rescheduled on CSAEVNT for this case, but only defendants A and B are selected as participants in the event. After scheduling or rescheduling the arraignment, you select CLALMRG from CSAEVNT, and select the Arraignment letter code which is associated with the DFT code on CTRLRUL. When the letter is generated, only party IDs A and B will receive the letter. Party C will be omitted.
You can add alternate parties as usual when CLALMRG is called from these forms.
If you select or access CLALMRG from any of the forms not listed above, ODP functions as usual and CLALMRG displays all party types for the case or cases on the calling form.
