Automatically Assigning Attorneys to Parties on Case Initiation Maintenance (CMAINIT) and Party (CDAPRTY)
When you select the Attorney Assignment navigation frame option on the Case Initiation Maintenance (CMAINIT) or Party (CDAPRTY) form, the system randomly assigns an attorney from the assignment pool defined on the Attorney Assignment Rules form (CTRATAS) for the current court, location, and case type. The system does the following:
assigns the attorney the default attorney party type defined on the System Control form (COASYSC). If the system finds a past association between the defendant on the current case and an attorney in the CTRATAS assignment pool, it assigns that attorney to the case. More Information.
automatically saves the attorney to the case and associates the attorney with the defendant on the case. To remove an automatically assigned attorney, you must end the party on the Party form (CDAPRTY) or remove the party on the Party Change/Delete form (CDACDPT).
