Docket Entry (CDAQCAS)
Use the Docket Entry window of the Quick Case Creation form (CDAQCAS) to associate dockets with the case.
You cannot establish defaults on this window.
It can only be done from the main form.
To associate dockets with the case
When the Docket Entry window opens, it displays dockets for which a rule exists associating them with the court, location, and case type. All will be selected. Deselect any you do not want to add to the case.
Court, location, case types, and dockets
are associated on the Case Type/Docket Type Rules form (CTRCSDK). For
more information, see the ACS Contexte Setup Manual.
To add additional dockets:
Enter or select the Docket code. The system fills the description.
Enter the Filing Date and Filing Time. The default is the current date and time, but you can change them. However, the date and time may not be earlier than the case filing date, in the future, nor outside the docket code's effective date range, if one has been defined for the docket code.
Select Assoc (Associate) to Plaintiff if the docket and any accompanying fees are to be associated with the plaintiff. If not checked, the docket will be associated with the case only. The Total Fees field is system-filled based on fee rules set up for the docket.
When you save the record, the system verifies you have access to create fees for the case's court and location. If you do not, you will receive an error message and cannot save the case.
Enter free-form Docket Text to be associated with the docket or select boilerplate text from the list.
If the docket code has automatic
docket text established in the Automatic Docket Text Rule form (CTRADOC),
the automatically generated text displays in the Text field and the Text
button is automatically selected.
Navigate to a blank line to enter more dockets.
When you close the Docket Entry window, you are returned to the Quick Case Creation form (CDAQCAS).
When you Save from the Quick Case Creation
form, all information entered on the Docket Entry window is saved.
