Enter, Change, or Withdraw Pleas (CMADISP)
Use the Plea tab of the Related Disposition form (CMADISP) to enter, change, withdraw, or view pleas for a case and party. You can change or delete (withdraw) pleas with an associated disposition and sentence.
Only the current plea information displays on this tab. You can view a history of plea changes/deletions by selecting Plea History in the navigation frame. This option is enabled only if changed or deleted pleas exist for the case ID and party ID entered at the top of the form.
If a plea is entered for a violation which
is subsequently
changed, a plea history record is created for the old violation and plea.
You can view information on the Plea History window. The Plea tab shows
a new record for the new violation so a plea can be entered for it.
To enter a plea
Scroll to the desired violation. Deleted violations do not appear on the Plea tab.
Click in the Plea field, then enter the desired plea code or select one from the list.
Enter a Plea Date or leave blank to use the default date.
If Enh (Enhancements) is checked,
you can select Enhancements in the navigation frame to view enhancements
to the violation.
Save.
To change or remove a plea
Scroll to the violation whose plea you want to change.
Enter a new Plea code or select one from the list. To withdraw a plea, select Delete Plea in the navigation frame to remove the plea code from the field. The violation information remains.
If Enh (Enhancements) is checked,
you can select Enhancements in the navigation frame to view enhancements
to the violation.
Enter a new Plea Date or leave blank to use the default date.
Save. If your jurisdiction requires entry of a reason code for a record change, the Change Reason window opens. Enter a Reason code and click OK to save the change or Cancel to abort the plea record change/deletion.
If your jurisdiction does not require
entry of a reason code, you can save without one. However, you always
have the option of manually entering a reason code by selecting Change
Reason in the navigation frame. More about the Change Reason
