Automatic Judge Assignment
The automatic judge assignment feature (which you activate from Case Initiation Maintenance [CMAINIT]) assigns judges either:
At random (without regard to the number of cases, complexity of cases, or percentage of time the judge works) or
By weighted case load (equally distributes cases across judges based on case complexity).
To use this feature, the person responsible for setting up your system must:
Indicate the type of assignment on the System Control form (COASYSC):
Select the radio button for the type of assignment (Random Assignment, Weighted Assignment, or No Automatic Judge Assignment).
Save.
Define each judge’s case types on the Calendar Profile form (CSAPROF):
Identify the judge whose case types will be defined.
Enter the types of cases (along with courts and locations assigned with the case types) heard by the specified judge.
Save.
