Associate Persons and Organizations (CPAPNPA)
Use the Person/Non-Person Association form (CPAPNPA) to set up personal, family, and business relationships between persons and organizations. You can set up the following types of relationships:
person to person, such as siblings or a child and parent;
organization to organization, such as a branch bank and main bank;
person to organization, such as an attorney and firm.
You can assign a start date and time to indicate the beginning of a relationship for court purposes and you can assign an end date and time when the relationship is no longer valid for court purposes.
To associate parties with each other
Open the Person/Non-Person Association form (CPAPNPA).
Enter the desired ID, or search for or add an ID.
From the Block menu, select Next.
Enter the Relationship Code or select it from the list. This code indicates the relationship of the current person or organization to the person or organization you will enter in the Associated ID field. Example
Enter the Associated ID, or search for or add the Associated ID.
Enter the Associated Relationship code. This code indicates the relationship of the person or organization in the Associated ID field to the person or organization entered in the top of the form. Example
In Assoc (Associated) Type, enter P to indicate a personal relationship, B to indicate a business relationship, or F to indicate a family relationship.
Optionally, enter a Start Date and Start Time to indicate the beginning of the relationship for court purposes. Using a navigation frame option, you can toggle these fields to End Date and End Time to indicate the end of the relationship.
You can enter past, present, or future
dates/times as long as the end date/time is after the beginning date/time
and as long as the entered dates do not conflict with any existing and
identical relationship between the same parties.
If you enter an end date and time, you must enter an End Reason. If you tab to another field after entering the end date and time, the End Reason window opens automatically; otherwise, select End Reason in the navigation frame. If you need to reestablish a relationship that has been ended, you can do so by selecting Clear End Date in the navigation frame.
The system does not keep a history
when an end date is cleared.
To view relationships of a certain type, select the appropriate option in the navigation frame: Personal Relationships, Family Relationships, Business Relationships, or All Relationships.
Save.
When finished, Exit the Person/Non-Person Association form (CPAPNPA).
