Add Images to a Batch and Print Bar Codes
You can print image bar codes from the Case Initiation Maintenance form (CMAINIT), the Identification form (CPAIDEN), and the Docket Association Entry form (CDADOCT). When you print a bar code, the system automatically adds the image to the batch you select.
The system has a limit of 999 images per
batch. If your batch exceeds 999, you see a message informing you that
you must close the batch and create a new one in order to continue. To
check the number of images in a batch, check the Count field in the Imaging Batch Update form (CEAIBAT).
To add an image to a batch and print bar codes
Select Image Bar Code in the navigation frame to open the Image Bar Code Window.
Enter the Batch ID or select it from the list of values (LOV).
Enter the Content Type or select it from the LOV.
Enter the number of Pages that will be scanned for this bar code.
Tab out of the Pages field to automatically save the record and print the bar code. After printing is complete and as long as you are on the same host record, you can select Image Bar Code again to print another copy of the same bar code up to 99 total.
If you are not set up with an assigned
printer for the Imaging Bar Code Printing Process on the Printer Control
form (COAPRNT), a window opens for you to select a printer so the bar
code can print.
After the bar code has printed, you can open the DMS Window and see the listing for the content file represented by the bar code. However, you cannot view the content file or perform any other imaging actions on it because it has not yet been scanned and so is not actually in your document management system.
