Update Case Status (CDACSTS)
Use the Case Status Maintenance form (CDACSTS) to view and manually update a case's status. You can also use it to view the history of changes to a case's status.
You must have a case security level equal
to or greater than that of the case to view it on the Case Status Maintenance
form. In addition, you must have full tab security access to update the
status of a case.
To view or change status
Enter or search for a Case ID. The system fills the case description, as well as the Court, Location, and Case Type.
Select Next from the Block menu to move to the Case Status tab and see all existing status records. The Case Status tab does not display the history of case status changes or deletions, but only the result of those changes or deletions. You can further limit the display by querying on the date, time, or status code.
The information is displayed with the
most recent status listed first. To reverse the display so the oldest
status is listed first, select Chronological Order in the navigation frame.
The navigation frame shows two options
for displaying the case status records: Show Repeats or Hide Repeats.
Show Repeats allows you to see all action codes that caused a particular
status; Hide Repeats limits the display to the status and the first action
code. For example, three different docket codes and two event codes could
all result in the same case status. You could choose to see all of them
or just the first one that caused the status.
To add a new status:
Select Insert from the Record menu.
Enter an Effective Date and Time.
Enter a Case Status code or select one from the list. The system displays the Description, Aging indicator, Disp Ind (Disposition Indicator), and the Case Age in Days.
Save.
To update a record:
Move to the desired record.
Enter a new Effective Date and Time, or select a new Case Status code from the list. These are the only fields that can be updated. Your changes may or may not affect the case age.
Save.
To view the history of status changes for this case, click on the Audit History tab.
When finished viewing and making changes, Save and Exit the Case Status Maintenance form (CDACSTS).
