Scan or Import Text, Pictures, Sound, or Movies (DMS Window)
The Imaging functionality of ACS Contexte gives you the ability to scan or import content (including text documents, images, sound files, or movie files) and attach it to a case, docket, person, or organization.
To scan or import content
On a DMS-enabled maintenance form, move to the case, docket, person, or organization record to which you want to attach content.
The DMS-enabled maintenance forms are
Case Initiation Maintenance (CMAINIT), Identification (CPAIDEN), and Docket
Association Entry (CDADOCT).
Select DMS Window in the navigation frame to open the DMS Window. When the window opens, the Images tab is active and displays the record to which you will attach the content.
Depending on how your system has been
set up, you may see buttons on the window you can use to insert content
and perform the other actions listed below. Whether buttons display or
not, you will see those options listed in the navigation frame.
Select DMS Insert in the navigation frame or click Insert on the window. The Detail tab becomes active.
Enter the Content Type or select it from the list of values (LOV).
The security level assigned to the content type on the Document Management System Control form (CEACTRL) defaults in to the Security field, but you can change it. However, the system does not allow you to make it lower than the case security level for content attached to case or docket records.
For more about the Document Management
System Control form (CEACTRL), see the ACS
Contexte Setup Manual or contact your system administrator.
Skip the Pages and Status fields as they apply only to batch imaging.
Enter an Image Desc (Description). The Document ID is assigned by the system.
Click Import or Scan as appropriate.
Import. When you click the Import button, you open a Windows box showing a list of files. Move to the file you want to import and select it, then click OK.
Scan. When you click the Scan button, a page opens for controlling your scan. What you see on this page varies depending on your scanner and scanning software.
