Imaging Overview
The Imaging functionality of ACS Contexte gives you the ability to scan or import content and attach it to a case, docket, person, or organization record. The content is actually stored in whatever third party document management system (DMS) your jurisdiction uses. Imaging works in partnership with your DMS by providing an interface between it and Contexte.
Contexte offers two imaging methods:
Ad hoc imaging allows you to scan or import the content immediately and attach it to the host record. Obviously you are limited to scanning only text or graphic content such as pictures or drawings, but you can import any type of electronic file that can be maintained through your third party DMS.
Batch imaging allows you to create a batch, print bar codes for each content item in the batch, then scan everything at once using a high speed scanner. Batch imaging applies only to scanning text or graphic content.
After images have been scanned or imported and depending on your security access, you can view, move, copy, link, or delete the content files.
Any time the words "images" or
"imaging" are used, they should be understood to include any
type of electronic file that can be maintained through your third party
DMS.
