Automatically Generating Non-Sufficient Fund Payment Records and Activating Non-Sufficient Fund Alerts
If the necessary non-sufficient fund codes have been set up on the Accounts Receivable Control form (CBACTRL), Contexte can automatically track payments made by a person or organization with non-sufficient funds and automatically activate non-sufficient fund alerts for the person or organization.
To have the system automatically track non-sufficient fund payments, do the following:
On the Receipt Void/Query/Reprint form (CBARCPT), void the non-sufficient fund payment using the non-sufficient fund reason code defined on the Accounts Receivable Control form (CBACTRL).
Save. The system does the following:
creates a non-sufficient fund record for the payor ID on the Non-Sufficient Fund Person/Company form (CPANSFP) and activates the NSF Alert setting. This setting tells the system to display an alert if you enter a payment for the ID.
adds to the case any non-sufficient fund fee set up on the Accounts Receivable Control form (CBACTRL).
For the system to add a non-sufficient
fund fee, the person or organization must be a party to the case. If you
applied the voided payment to multiple cases, the system adds the fee
to the first case you applied the void to.
If you enter a payment for the ID on Payment Entry (CBAPAYM), Miscellaneous Fee (CBAMISC), Parking Ticket Payment (CBATPAY), Traffic Disposition/Payment Entry (CVATDIS), or Bond Acceptance Maintenance (CCABOND), the system warns you the ID has a history of making non-sufficient fund payments. You can still save the payment if so desired.
For more information on setting up the Accounts
Receivable Control form (CBACTRL), see the ACS Contexte Setup Manual.
You can also manually create non-sufficient
fund records for a person or organization using the Non-Sufficient Fund
Person/Company form (CPANSFP).
