Use the Additional Party Entry window of the Quick Case Creation form (CDAQCAS) to enter additional parties to the case. Because no automatic association occurs with parties entered on this window, you should enter the plaintiff, plaintiff's attorney, and judge on the main form.

Generate/DRAW3.gif You cannot establish defaults on this window. Defaults can only be created from the main form.

To enter additional parties

  1. Enter or select a Party Type.

The Security level defined for the party type on the Party Type Code Rules form (CTRPTYP) is automatically associated with the party although it doesn't display on the window.

  1. Enter or search for a party ID, or create a new one.

  2. If you entered an existing ID, the system selects Person or Organization as applicable. If you entered a new ID, select the appropriate button.

  3. If you entered an existing ID, the system fills the name fields. If you entered a new ID:

  4. If you entered an existing ID, the system fills the address fields with the first active address. You can change it to another address or add a new address of a different type.

  5. Generate/DRAW3.gif If you are not set up to view confidential addresses and the existing address is marked confidential, you will not be able to see the information. If you are set up to view confidential addresses, use the navigation frame option to do so.

    If you entered a new ID, enter the street Address, City, State/Prov (Province), ZIP/PC, and County. If the address is to be kept confidential, select Confidential Address. More about ZIP code entry

If you have selected or entered a party and address type already in the system, the address may already be marked confidential. If you deselect the confidential check box, the address will no longer be confidential anywhere in the system.

  1. If you entered an existing ID, the system fills the Phone field. If you entered a new ID, enter the area code and number.

  2. Enter or select a Party Status.

  3. Enter an Email address for the party.

  4. Enter the Date and Time the Status became effective. This cannot be earlier than the case filing date and time nor can it be a future date and time.

  5. Enter the party's SSN/Tax ID (Social Security Number/Tax ID number).

  6. Existing SSN/Tax ID numbers display as  nine asterisks (*********) if you do not have access to view the SSN/Tax ID information as defined in the Confidential Address and Person Security Control form (COACONF).  For more information about COACONF, refer to the ACS Contexte Setup Manual.

  7. Select Next from the Record menu to add another party. When you close the Additional Party Entry window, the Docket Entry window automatically opens.

  8. Generate/DRAW3.gif When you Save from the Quick Case Creation form, all information entered on the Additional Party Entry window is saved.
