Use the Disposition tab of the Related Disposition form (CMADISP) to enter, change, or remove violation dispositions for a case and party. You can change a disposition with an associated sentence, but only to another disposition that also allows a sentence; if you want to change to a disposition that does not allow a sentence, you must first delete the sentence record. You can delete dispositions, but if there is an associated sentence, you must first delete the sentence record. Fine Assessment considerations

Only the current disposition information displays on this tab. You can view a history of disposition changes/deletions by selecting Disposition History in the navigation frame. This option is enabled only changed or deleted dispositions exist for the case ID and party ID entered at the top of the form.

To enter a violation disposition

  1. Scroll to the violation for which you want to enter a disposition. Deleted violations do not appear on the Disposition tab.

  2. Enter the Disp (Disposition) Date or leave blank to use the default date.

  3. Enter the Disp (Disposition) code or select one from the list. The list displays only active codes based on the disposition date.

  4. If the entered disposition code is associated with a case status on the Case Status Rule form (CTRCSTS), case status is automatically updated. More Information

  5. To dispose of an enhancement to a violation, select Enhancements in the navigation frame.

  6. Save.

To change or delete a violation disposition

You can change a disposition with an associated sentence, but only to another disposition that also allows a sentence; if you want to change to a disposition that does not allow a sentence, you must first delete the sentence record. You can delete dispositions, but if there is an associated sentence, you must first delete the sentence record.

  1. Scroll to the violation whose disposition you want to change or delete.

  2. To change a disposition:

    1. Select the disposition record you want to change.

    2. Change the Disp (Disposition) code or the Disp Date (Disposition Date).

  3. To delete a disposition:

    1. Select the disposition record you want to delete.

    2. Select Delete Disposition in the navigation frame.

  4. Save. If your jurisdiction requires entry of a reason code for a record change, the Change Reason window opens. Enter a Reason code and click OK to save the change or Cancel to abort the disposition record change/deletion.

  5. If your jurisdiction does not require entry of a reason code, you can save without one. However, you always have the option of manually entering a reason code by selecting Change Reason in the navigation frame. More about the Change Reason window

  6. To change the disposition of a violation enhancement, select Enhancements in the navigation frame.

  7. Save.
