Use the Quick Citation Entry form (CVAQMVI) for quick entry of traffic and other violations such as animal control. This form is custom-designed using the Quick Citation Entry Definition form (CTRQMVD) to include only the fields your jurisdiction needs for quick case entry. (For more information on CTRQMVD, see the ACS Contexte Setup Manual.)

Generate/DRAW20.gif If your jurisdiction associates docket codes with case types on the Case Type/Docket Type Rules form (CTRCSDK), the docket codes do not appear on the Docket Association Entry form (CDADOCT) for cases entered on either the Parking Ticket Entry form (CVAPARK) or the Quick Citation Entry form (CVAQMVI). To make docket codes associated with case types appear on CDADOCT, you must enter the ticket information on the Traffic Details tab of the Case Initiation form (CMAINIT). ACS Contexte adds the dockets to the Short Docket tab in CMAINIT. After the dockets are saved on the Short Docket tab, they show on CDADOCT.

Generate/DRAW20.gif If your jurisdiction uses the automatic case status update feature, a status may be assigned automatically when a case is initially filed. The status is assigned only if no other action is taken affecting case status. For example, if you enter an event on this form, case status may be automatically updated based on rules set up connecting the event and a case status. More Information

If your jurisdiction uses the automatic judge assignment feature, judges are assigned automatically if the Judge Party and Judge ID fields are used on this form and are left blank. More Information

To enter a traffic violation

  1. Open the Quick Citation Entry form (CVAQMVI).

  2. Enter the Citation Type or select it from the list.

  3. From the Block menu, select Next. The fields associated with the violation type appear.

  4. Enter information in the displayed fields. If a list is available for a field or another form can be called to perform a search, the List Values option is enabled in the navigation frame. (For more information about the fields that can display on CVAQMVI, click here.)

  5. Generate/DRAW25.gif To set defaults for the session you're working in, enter the desired information, then select Set Defaults in the navigation frame. The defaults are entered for all violations of the current type for the current session (a session ends when you Exit or Clear Form). If necessary, you can override a default and enter a different value.

  6. To identify the Party ID for the case as the vehicle owner, type SAME in the Vehicle Owner ID field. This works even if you use NEXT to assign party IDs.

  7. To add more than one violation of a certain type, select Next from the Record menu in the Violation, Violation Time, Violation Filing Date, Violation Filing Time, Violation Date, or Citation Number fields. To clear these fields, select Clear from the Record menu while in one of them.

  8.  If you select Clear from the Record menu when you are in any field other than the violation fields, the entire record clears. If you select Next from the Record menu when you are in any other field, you move to a blank record. ACS Contexte automatically saves the previous record, but you cannot access the additional features in the navigation frame.

  9. Save.

  10. After you save the record, bail is calculated automatically. If your citation displays the Calculated Bail field, the amount appears there. If your citation does not display the Calculated Bail field, you can view the bail amount on the following forms:

  11. More about bail calculation

  12. To perform other related tasks, select the desired option in the navigation frame.

  13. When you've finished, Exit the Quick Citation Entry form (CVAQMVI).
