Use the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN) to:

Generate/DRAW27.gif Before you can add persons and organizations here, you must have access to view non-parties (for example, bailiffs) as established on the Confidential Address and Person Security Control form (COACONF). If you don't have access to add persons/organizations here, you can add them on the Case Initiation form (CMAINIT) when you file a case.

To enter a person or organization

  1. Open the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN). If you see a Security Warning, click here.

  2. Enter a unique ID for the person or organization, or type NEXT to generate one. Tip

  3. Generate/DRAW27.gif To make sure the person or organization has not been entered in the system under another ID, you can click the arrow next to the ID field to search the Person Name/ID Query form (CPIIDEN) for existing persons or organizations.

  4. From the Block menu, select Next to move to the Current tab.

  5. If you are entering a person, enter the Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, and a Prefix or Suffix if applicable. If you are entering an organization, enter its name in Organization Name.

  6. Attach a content file to a new or existing person or organization record. To learn how to:

  7. Save.

  8. If the Image check box is selected for an existing person or organization entry, it indicates one or more content files are attached. Click on the check box to see the number of attachments in the hint text at the bottom of the form; double-click to view the attachments. To learn how to perform any of the following actions on an attached content file, click the appropriate link.

  9. To enter address and telephone information for the person or organization, select the Address/Phone tab.

  10. To enter additional information about a person, such as marital status, sex, and identifying marks, select the Demographics tab.

  11. To enter an additional (supplemental) ID number, such as an FBI number, select the  Supplemental ID tab.

  12. To enter an AKA (also-known-as) for a person or DBA (doing-business-as) for an organization, click the AKA/ID History tab.

  13. To enter legal categories for judges or attorneys, select the Legal Information tab.

  14. To access other related forms, select the desired option in the navigation frame:

  15. When finished, Exit the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN).

To change the name or ID of a person or organization

  1. Open the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN).

  2. Enter or search for the ID of the desired person or organization.

  3. From the Block menu, select Next.

  4. Enter either a new ID or a new name.

  5. If the Image check box is selected for an existing person or organization record, it indicates one or more content files are attached. Click on the check box to see the number of attachments in the hint text at the bottom of the form; double-click to view the attachments. If there are multiple attachments, you will be asked if you want to view them all. You can also select DMS View in the navigation frame to view the files.

  6. Save.

  7. To view information about name and ID changes, click the Previous Name/ID tab.

  8. When finished, Exit the Person/Organization Maintenance form (CPAIDEN).
