Query on or Change Existing Case Information (CMAINIT)
You can use the Case Initiation Maintenance form (CMAINIT) to:
Query on existing cases and their parties, party demographics, dockets, events, violations, arrests, and traffic details.
Change certain party, demographic, docket, violation, arrest, and traffic information.
View, move, copy, or delete content files attached to case records; or link those files to other case, docket, or person/organization records.
To query on or change existing cases
Open the Case Initiation Maintenance form (CMAINIT).
From the Query menu, select Enter.
To limit your search, enter or select the appropriate information:
Court Type, Location, and Case Type
Case ID and Description
Security level assigned to the case
Claim/Value (generally used only in civil cases)
Weight or complexity of the case
Filing date and time
Type of Trial requested or held for the case
If checked, indicates the case was selected for additional Tracking using ad hoc reporting tools. The reports are not generated automatically; a check here simply acts as a flag for courts who have designed their own reports for tracking purposes.
From the Query menu, select Execute. If your query returns more than one case, you can move through them by using the Up and Down arrow keys.
Add or change information in any field in the top of the form except Court Type, Location, Case Type, and Case ID.
You can change a case's ID, court type,
location, or type on the Case
Information Update form (CDACASU).
If the Image check box is selected for an existing case entry, it indicates one or more content files are attached. Content files can be any electronic file that can be maintained through your third party document management system (DMS). To learn how to perform any of the following actions on an attached content file, click the appropriate link.
To change or view case information entered for CaseStats reporting, select CaseStats Options in the navigation frame.
